Dr. Kofi Asare-Addo
Dr. Kofi Asare-Addo is a Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutics and the Pharmacy Admissions Tutor at the University of Huddersfield. Dr. Asare-Addo completed his PhD at the Medway School of Pharmacy, University of Kent in 2012. His PhD was an Industrial CASE studentship with the University and the polymer company Colorcon. His research work which specifically focused on the development of an in-vitro testing method to investigate drug release from hypromellose matrix tablets under fed and fasted conditions was supervised by Professor Ali Nokhodchi and Dr Ali Rajabi-Siahboomi. Following the successful completion of his PhD, Dr. Asare-Addo was employed by the University of Huddersfield in 2012 as a Research Assistant, Research Fellow and Lecturer before taking up the post of Senior Lecturer in 2016. Dr. He also became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2014.
Dr. Asare-Addo has research expertise and interests in particle engineering, oral controlled release formulations, UV imaging in pharmaceuticals, drug-clay complexations and solubility enhancements (solid dispersions, salts and cocrystals). His research work has been disseminated at several conferences (APS UKPharmSci, AAPS, PBP, European conference of Pharmaceutics and CRS) and workshops both nationally and internationally (UK, Germany, Denmark, Turkey, Portugal, Syria, Iran and USA). Dr. Asare-Addo also successfully collaborates with other Universities and several pharmaceutical industries and to date has published over 35 research articles, 2 book chapters and a review article. He is currently supervising 6 PhD and 1 MSc Research students as well as co-supervising 1 PhD and 1 MSc research student.
