Engr. Dr. Chigbogu G. OzoegwuDr Chigbogu Ozoegwu is with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he is currently a Senior Lecturer. He is also on parallel appointments with the Department of Mechatronics Engineering and the Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development in the same University since 2019 and 2021 respectively. He is a DFG-funded Guest Professor at the Institute of Engineering and Computational Mechanics (ITM), University of Stuttgart, Germany from 2018 to 2021 where he was a principal investigator on the "Priority Programme 1897 (Calm, Smooth and Smart) - Novel Approaches for Influencing Vibrations by Means of Deliberately Introduced Dissipation". As a Senior Research Associate of the department of Mechanical Engineering Science, Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, University of Johannesburg from 2018 to 2021, he principally supervised doctoral research. Hosted by ITM, he is currently on Humboldt Fellowship for Experienced Researchers in Germany, working on Mechanics-based Shape Design of Cutting Tools for Sustainable Machining and co-supervising a doctoral thesis titled Effects of Variable Helix Shapes of Cutting Tools on the Thermo-Mechanical Behavior of Milling Process. He specializes in computational mechanics/methods and data engineering with interests in mechanics of material, structural, machine, production, industrial, energy, environmental and biological systems and with specific applications not limited to machine tool dynamics and metal-cutting mechanics, additive manufacturing, manufacturing automation and robotic machining, vehicle impact mechanics, solar engineering and renewable energy assessment/technology. He has published 7 book chapters and over 70 journal papers.
