Dr. Rotimi Alabi
Dr. Rotimi Alabi is the founder and Managing Director (MD) of RAB-Microfluidics. Dr Alabi obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology at Igbinedion University Okada (Nigeria), a Master’s degree in Environmental Management at Coventry University (United Kingdom) and a PhD in geology (specialty in geochemistry) at the University of Aberdeen (United Kingdom) where he researched on microfluidic technology. As founder and Managing Director (MD) of RAB-Microfluidics, Dr Alabi is looking to pioneer automation of wet chemistry protocols for industrial applications using the microfluidic platform. Dr Alabi has led RAB-Microfluidics to win several awards, raising over £3.5 Mn in funding and is on his way to developing smarter sensor technologies to enable the early detection of rotating machinery failure by analysing lubricating oil. This will have cost saving and efficiency benefits in addition to a better understanding of machinery performance and machine reliability for industrial businesses across many industries.
